I chose this project because it’s the one I’m most proud of. If you look at my process portfolio, you’ll see how I learned to cook Afro-Brazilian dishes, which were completely new for me. I really enjoyed trying out different recipes and learning about the culture behind the food. This project helped me improve my cooking skills and also taught me how food can connect people to their history and traditions. It was fun, meaningful, and something I’ll always remember.
My service learning project is about amphibians and their habitats in Vienna, such as frogs, toads, and salamanders. These animals live near water and wetlands and are very sensitive to changes in their environment. Pollution, climate change, roads, and the loss of wetlands make it harder for amphibians to survive in the city. In this project, I learned about different amphibian species in Vienna and how human activities affect them. I also explored ways people are helping to protect them, like wetland protection and safe road crossings. This project helped me understand why amphibians are important for healthy ecosystems and how small local actions can help protect them.
