In this project, I aimed to explore how music can reveal a bigger story such as colonialism in Mexico. Instead of only approaching colonialism through textbooks or research, I approached it through everyday expressions such as music and specifically the song cielito Lindo.

For my summative, I created a story map that summarizes my research on the effects of colonialism on music in Mexico along with learning the song Cielito Lindo on the piano as a way to understand the historical context while appreaciating Mexican identity.
